Problem and solution

Solution to Midterm problem

Figure A

Figure B

The problem given is an orthographic representation of a three dimensional part.  The views given from left to right are the front view and the right view (profile).  The dimensional values shown are in mm.  You will notice that the top view is not shown in the "problem".  This does not mean that it will not add clarification, but it does mean that it is not necessary to show all the required dimensions to "produce" a three dimensional representation of the part.

I have left the last step of the problem off of the video which is the "four view" as shown in figure A.  This is created by using an icon in your heads up tool bar (it only takes ONE click).  If your view orientation is different that that which is shown in figure A, it is because you began your sketch on a different PLANE.  I began my sketch on the front plane as defined by the software (I drew the sketch with the right orthographic view as the front view), if you oriented your part differently then the views in figure A will be arranged differently.
